
PITTSBURGH, Pa., October 12 2011 – The Pittsburgh Foundation’s Day of Giving last week generated funding for local nonprofits at the rate of nearly $75 per second over the 24-hour giving period. The total raised for charitable organizations in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties was $6,448,448

WestmorelandGives
The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, affiliated with The Pittsburgh Foundation will hold the Day of Giving 2011 on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 12:00 a.m. until 11:59:59 p.m.
Please read the following carefully:
All donations during that 24-hour period will receive a pro-rated portion of the match pool. (As an example, if the match pool is $500,000 and the total amount raised that day is $2,000,000, then the match may be .25 cents on the dollar.)
Each nonprofit will receive one (1) check totaling all donation(s), minus the 2.9% credit card fee, plus the match portion along with donor information within 21 days of the event’s end.
Only credit card donations received through www.westmorelandgives.org during the 24 hours of October 4, 2011 will be matched for this event. No donations via check, cash or stock will be accepted.
Only MasterCard and Visa donations will be accepted and matched for this event. Discover and AMEX donations will not be accepted or matched.
The minimum gift is $25. The maximum gift that an individual can give per organization is $10,000.
Only nonprofits organizations with a current published portrait on www.westmorelandgives.org, that primarily serve Westmoreland County, are eligible to participate in Day of Giving 2011 (all information must be submitted by August 15, 2011). Organizations are prohibited from donating to themselves.
The Donate Now page will not appear here, on www.westmorelandgives.org until 12:00 a.m. on October 4, 2011

WestmorelandGives is an initiative of The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County through its partnership with The Pittsburgh Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to:
